During the Christmas season we have a variety of sizes and color poinsettias available. We foil each pot with colored foil of your choice (gold , red, or green) to compliment the already beautiful poinsettia. Since the season for the poinsettia is small, supplies are limited.
Poinsettia's can sometimes be difficult to keep healthy in your household during the winter as they are tropical plants forced to bloom during the Christmas season. Here are a few helpful tips to keeping a healthy poinsettia.
- Keep your plant between 65-75 degrees F during the day. You can drop the temperature at night to around 60 degrees F, but keep in mind that if the plant experiences cold drafts or touches a cold window can cause the plant to drop leaves prematurely.
- Place your plant near a sunny window, keeping it from touching the glass. Poinsettias are tropical plants and love the sunlight.
- Water the plant whenever the surface of the dirt feels dry. Add water until the water drains out the bottom of the pot, but don't allow the plant to sit in the water. Allowing the plant to sit in water can cause leaf drop.
